Term 3 Week 1 - Thursday 24 July 2025
Principals Message
Welcome back to what will be another action packed term. I hope that you had a relaxing break and that your children are rested and refreshed.
Gospel: Luke 11: 1-13
And it came to pass, that as he was in a certain place praying, when he ceased, one of his disciples said to him: Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. And he said to them: When you pray, say: Father, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation. And he said to them: Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go to him at midnight, and shall say to him: Friend, lend me three loaves, Because a friend of mine has come off his journey to me, and I have not what to set before him. And he from within should answer, and say: Trouble me not, the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. Yet if he shall continue knocking, I say to you, although he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend; yet, because of his importunity, he will rise, and give him as many as he needeth. And I say to you, Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and you shall find: knock, and it shall be opened to you. For everyone that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened. And which of you, if he asks his father bread, will he give him a stone? or a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he reach him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father from heaven give the good Spirit to them that ask him?
Holiday Happenings
During the holiday period there were several projects undertaken:
- Completion of the installation of the oval irrigation system
- New garden beds installed in the area near the Year 5 classrooms
- Trimming of numerous trees in line with keeping our students safe
- Installation of a new heater / AC in the canteen
- Installation of a new heater in the hall (1 still on back order)
- Start of the sensory garden in the area between the school and the ELC
- New garden edging installed near the water tank and along the front path. This should help keep the mulch in on really rainy days, reducing the likelihood of flooding.
Here are a few photos of the works:

Enrolments for 2026
At the time of writing, we have some space in Kindergarten, Year 1, 2, 5 and Year 6 for 2026. We have waiting lists for both Year 3 and 4 for 2026. If you are aware of families within our enrolment area who have children in these year levels, please feel free to send them our way. We continue to offer school tours and our Year 6 students do an amazing job leading these tours.

Year 1
Last term our year 1 students finished their learning on life in Jesus' time. They used clay and materials from outside to work together and create Jesus' village!
Over the break, the Vinnies van collected all our community donations for the winter appeal. This year's collection was a mountain high and know it will all be put to great use!

ELC News
Exciting news… construction on our sensory garden, in between the ELC and the primary school, has finally begun! The children have been keenly watching the fences go up and the big digging equipment arrive. Some of the ELC carpark will be closed off to allow access for trucks. Please use the carpark in the primary school if spaces are full in the ELC. The project is scheduled to take approximately 4-6 weeks to complete, and we apologise for any inconvenience during this time.

Mura Gadi
This term we begin Mura Gadi, our bush learning program. Mura Gadi means ‘pathways for searching’ in the Ngunnawal language. Each session begins with an Acknowledgement of Country, honouring Ngunnawal land and embedding Indigenous perspectives in a meaningful, child-friendly way. Children will explore and connect with the diverse natural spaces within our local community, deepen their connection to country, and develop an appreciation for the natural world around them. Through these walks, they will also explore our local community—its paths, places, and stories—building a strong sense of belonging and respect for the land we learn and play on. The program will take place every Tuesday for Turtles and Stingrays, and Thursdays for the Lobsters. Children are welcome to bring gumboots.
Resource Fee Term 3 and 4
Following funding from the ACT Government under the Preschool Reform Agreement, we will not be charging the Term Resource Fee ($85) for Terms 3 or 4. The funding aims to support children attending preschool in a variety of ways including fee relief.
School Photos
School photos are on Wednesday 30 July (Lobsters) and Monday 11 August (Turtles and Stingrays) Sibling photos will be taken on those days also.
