Welcome to the new school year!

Welcome back to another school year. The school started with a massive adult crowd on Tuesday morning to see the young ones off to another school year. I am very much looking forward to the year ahead and I hope and pray we all have a happy and successful year. All students arrived back to school with big smiles and stories to tell of their holidays. It was evident on our first day that the girls and boys were excited to be with their friends again, some they had not seen for six weeks or so. I am delighted with how the year has started with all classes getting down to some serious work already. Our newest students, our Kindergarten girls and boys, approached their first day very confidently. We had no tears at all until around the time they had to go home. Let’s hope they continue to have such a positive start to their school years.

Sticky Chicken Legs - Order form

During 2009, the school has assembled a wealth of special recipes that have withstood the test of time and taste pretty good too. Pick up your own copy of this recipe booklet for just $20 and help the school raise some funds as well. Download the order form by clicking here.

Parent Information Evening - Tuesday 9 February

Come along and meet your son/daughter’s teacher for the year. St Jude’s has four new full-time teachers this year and they are keen to meet their students’ parents. The evening will begin in the hall at 7.00pm. At around 7.30pm teachers will present information to parents in classrooms. This will be repeated again at 8.00pm for parents who have a second child at school. The second session will conclude at 8.30pm. Available on the night will be Term 1 Overviews for each grade and a schedule for brief teacher/parent meetings to be held in the next week or two. Unfortunately, no child minding service will be available.

Opening School Mass

School Captains, House Captains and Vice Captains, Peer Leaders and all Year 6 leaders will receive their badges at our Opening School Mass next week. All parents/grandparents are warmly welcome to join us. Badges will be presented to all of our senior students in recognition of their leadership role in our school. Any Year 6 parents attending the Mass are invited to pin the badge on their children during the commitment ceremony.
